The AXI Coherent Network-on-Chip (AXI C-NoC) is a scalable, highperformance interconnect IP designed to connect processors, shared caches, memory controllers, accelerators, and peripherals in modern multicore SoCs. Supporting both Crossbar (CB) and Mesh topologies, the AXI C-NoC enables designers to optimize system latency, scalability, and silicon area based on application requirements.
The interconnect supports AXI, ACE, and ACE-Lite compliant interfaces, enabling seamless integration of coherent and non-coherent IPs within a unified communication fabric. Hardware-managed cache coherency ensures data consistency across multiple processor clusters and shared memory resources, while optional snoop filter support minimizes unnecessary snoop traffic to improve overall system performance.
The AXI C-NoC supports a comprehensive set of coherent transactions, including Read, Write, Atomic, Exclusive, Barrier, and Cache Maintenance operations. Parallel processing of independent Read, Write, and Snoop channels enables multiple outstanding transactions while maintaining coherency and maximizing throughput. Configurable transaction ordering, QoS mechanisms, and address mapping provide flexibility to optimize latency, bandwidth, and fairness for diverse workloads.
The interconnect incorporates switch-based routing with configurable routing algorithms to efficiently distribute traffic across the network. Credit-based flow control with configurable per-port credit allocation ensures reliable data transfer and effective congestion management. Configurable cache line size and internal data width allow designers to balance performance, power, and area according to system requirements.
Designed for complex SoC environments, the AXI C-NoC supports independent clock domains through register slicing for efficient clockdomain crossing and timing closure. Internal clock gating reduces dynamic power consumption during low-activity periods while maintaining high performance.
